Specialised Services Quality Dashboards (SSQDs) have been published by NHS England.
The SSQDs are designed to collate information about specialised service outcomes from healthcare providers and monitor the quality of services. This enables comparisons to be drawn between localities and supports the long-term improvement of outcomes in services commissioned by NHS England.
Each SSQD includes a list of measures for which data is collected, called ‘metric definition sets’. Since April 2016, SSQD data has been submitted and reviewed using an online portal, which was developed to be of use to both providers and commissioners.
The SSQDs, and their metric definition sets, are associated with the six National Programmes of Care, which are:
- Blood and infection
- Internal medicine
- Mental health
- Women and children.
